Description
- Activities
- The researchers will focus on two-key activities:(1) zeroth-order gradient-based circuit optimization: (a) deterministic circuit optimization, (b) zeroth-order stochastic circuit optimization with process variations, (c) two-level variance reduction methods to accelerate ourcircuit optimization tool, and (d) high-dimensional zeroth-order circuit optimization methods. (2) distributionally robust circuit design optimization: (a) a novel distributionally robust optimization formulation for circuit design, (b) numerical solver via distributionally robust bayesian optimization (drbo), (c) highdimensional distributionally robust circuit optimization solvers via tensor compression, bayesian neural network and active-subspace methods.
- Expected outcomes
- The research results will help shorten the design cycles of semiconductor chip design, improve chip design quality and save labor forces in the design flow.
- Intended beneficiaries
- U.S. Semiconductor design companies and manufacturer will benefit from the anticipated, improved novel algorithms and software tool.
- Subrecipient activities
- The recipient does not intend to subaward funds.
