About this award

The University of Wyoming received a $400,000 cooperative agreement award from the Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology under the Manufacturing Extension Partnership federal grant program (CFDA 11.611).

The award will support the University's efforts to expand existing manufacturing extension center capabilities and establish a supply chain intelligence network to improve resiliency and optimization of domestic supply chains in Wyoming. Key activities include conducting research to thoroughly understand Wyoming's local supply chain ecosystem, creating a working group of regional manufacturing extension centers to focus on regional supply chain strengths and weaknesses, and deploying solutions on a regional level with a streamlined supply chain strategy. The University aims to largely focus on critical manufacturing infrastructure needs in emerging technology, energy, and defense industrial base sectors.

Expected outcomes include developing better tools and a unified system for collaboration to build supply chain resilience and increase domestic sourcing locally, regionally, and nationally. The intended beneficiaries are small and medium-sized manufacturers in Wyoming. No subawards are planned under this cooperative agreement.
