Description
The project will collect market data on jobs, income, and employment from the bioeconomy and the BIO-based products industry to be used by the USDA, the private sector, and policymakers to find investment opportunities, identify market trends, and technical assistance needs. The primary deliverable is a report that assesses the bioindicators of the U.S. Economy for calendar year 2024 with policy updates through 2025. IT will highlight key indicators, trends, and investments showing the continued expansion of the biobased economy across energy, fuels, and manufacturing sectors. An accompanying data spreadsheet will include the series history of each indicator presented in the report. Measuring the economic contributions of this growing sector can help to ensure united states economic and technological leadership in the global market, guiding government policy and funding decisions, achieving national security and environmental goals, and improving the nation's health and wellbeing.
