About this award
The Maritime Administration awarded a $926,016 cooperative agreement to the Research Foundation for the State University of New York (RFSUNY) on behalf of the State University of New York Maritime College under the State Maritime Schools program (CFDA 20.806). The funding supports SUNY Maritime College's Student Incentive Program, which provides education and training to students pursuing careers as merchant marine officers. Consistent with the State Maritime Schools program's goal, the Student Incentive Program prepares graduates to enter the maritime industry and crew merchant vessels through its maritime-focused curriculum. RFSUNY serves as the administrative pass-through for the award, with SUNY Maritime College overseeing direct delivery of maritime education and training services to students.
