The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Financial Services Division has been awarded a $3,714,497 Block Grant for Community Mental Health Services (CFDA 93.958) from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This two-year block grant, with a performance period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026, will enable the division to deliver a wide range of community-based mental health services across Idaho. The grant funding will support outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention, case management, housing assistance, peer support, workforce training, and public education campaigns to address critical behavioral health needs for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances. As a prime federal award recipient, the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare has an extensive portfolio of federal grant awards supporting various social services and public health initiatives in the state.
