The Social Services South Dakota Department received a $125,000 block grant award from the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide comprehensive community mental health services from September 2021 through September 2025.
The award was made under the Block Grants for Community Mental Health Services program (CFDA 93.958) to enable the State of South Dakota to carry out its plan for providing services to adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances. As the designated state mental health authority, Social Services South Dakota Department will use the funding to deliver community-based services throughout Pierre, SD during the four-year grant period.
