Description
SAP purchase requisition: 4200231021. NNC08VD81P renmar enterprises fission surface power (FSP) technology development tasks 1. Support the development of the FSP program plan and the DOE implementation plans: a. Develop a list of the nuclear technology development (consistent with the aerospace and integrated FSP system development) that will be needed to achieve TRL 5-6 by the 2013 period (or whenever phase b would start) with quantitative requirements such as burn up levels, hardware neutron and gamma exposures, operating temperatures, etc. The list will be based on partial development lists the team has created, the detailed technology validation plan we developed in SP-100 with DOE and NASA participation, and the detailed lmfbr technology development plans and actual experience which involved industry, the national labs, and DOE. B. Identify and document the work already done in the lmfbr, SP-100, and other programs relevant to the needed FSP technology development from step a. This will include listing the specific documents that describe the work and results, and a quantitative evaluation of how the prior work and data relate to what is needed for FSP. The prior work document sources will include my archive files which are quite extensive from both the lmfbr and SP-100 programs as well as national sources such as osti. C. Identify the remaining technology development work that FSP should concentrate on prior to phase b. D. Identify and provide liaison with key technical personnel (from GE, westinghouse, and the labs) who participated in the prior development and test work for the FSP development areas for example the principal engineers who developed and tested EM pumps, heat exchangers, and control drives for lmfbrs and SP-100. E. Review the FSP project and technology implementation plans and provide recommendations to the FSP management team. 2. Support the development of DOE technology plans that are consistent with the NASA program requirements and priorities. Periodically review progress to assure consistency with NASA program goals. 3. Review the FSP technology development safety plans and on-going implementation of these plans to assure compliance with the appropriate NASA and DOE requirements. 4. Participate in specific technical tasks as assigned by the FSP manager 5. In cooperation with INL, support the design, fabrication, testing and evaluation of the pump performance. Support evolution of the pump to a prototype unit. 6. Support NASA and DOE management in the planning and execution of the FSP technology program to achieve technical and programmatic goals as cost effectively as possible. Assist in creation and review of specific design and test plans, analysis of results, preparation of reports and briefing material. Participate in meetings, reviews and presentations as needed.
