The Naval Sea Systems Command awarded a $124,790 firm fixed-price purchase order to Indal Technologies Inc. for development and delivery of a comprehensive training course on operational and maintenance requirements for the Shipboard Helicopter Handler, Extra Low Profile (SHH-ELP) MANTIS system. The training program encompasses curriculum development from September through December 2025, followed by a seven-day training delivery conducted at Naval Station Mayport, Florida in January 2026. Course content addresses critical technical competencies including vehicle inspection, hydraulic and electrical systems, motor controllers, steering computers, and diagnostic procedures. Indal Technologies Inc., a Canadian aerospace and maritime components manufacturer and subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, was selected without a set-aside designation through full and open competition. The company has established itself as a reliable federal vendor since 2002, with extensive experience supplying specialized components and services to U.S. defense agencies.
Deliverables under this contract include specialized training equipment such as testing cables, motor controller programming files, diagnostic software, and associated troubleshooting tools that participants will retain following course completion. Upon successful completion of diagnostic and troubleshooting assessments, each attendee will receive certification. This training initiative supports the Navy's operational readiness by ensuring personnel possess the technical knowledge necessary to operate and maintain the MANTIS-SHH-ELP system and updated variants incorporating new battery and obsolescence replacement kits.
