This will be a brand name only requirement in order to maintain compatibility with existing equipment.The Government will solicit (M67001-17-Q-0059) and award this contract using FAR Part 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. The Government intends to award the quoter who represents the Best Value to the Government. Best Value will be determined by a review of quoters' responses to the evaluation criteria provided in the solicitation. Award will be issued on a firm fixed price contract on an all or none basis. The requirement is 100% set-aside for small business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 339113. The request for quotation (RFQ) documents and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect tough Federal Acquisitions Circular 2005-95, effective 19 January 2017, and DFARS Change Notice (DCN) 20161222, effective 22 December 2016.The solicitation will be available for download via the electronic data interchange at FedBizOps, www.fbo.gov, on or about 16 August 17. The RFID equipment links the firefighter to the SCBA and includes hardware/software for tracking firefighters. This announcement constitutes the only notice for sources sought. Request for company background and capabilities brief are being sought and requested for this notice. An official solicitation notice is NOT applicable at this time. The proposed acquisition is to be openly competed and the applicable NAICS is 339113 with a size standard of 750 employees.
