Paragraph 1:
The Department of Health and Human Services' Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Acquisition and Grant Services is seeking to procure two previously owned CONVIRON growth chambers, specifically a Model GEN1000 and a Model GEN2000. The purpose of this requirement is to acquire these chambers to simulate real-life growing conditions of covered produce and conduct experiments observing the survival of foodborne pathogens and absorption of heavy metals. The FDA has already acquired similar chambers from the same manufacturer and requires the additional GEN1000 and GEN2000 models for data comparison and consistency in their research. The government has determined that Normco Cascade, Inc. is the sole source for these previously owned chambers.
Paragraph 2:
This procurement is set aside for small businesses. Normco Cascade, Inc. is the current owner of the required chambers. The government anticipates making an award to Normco Cascade, Inc. within approximately 15 days after the notice, unless another organization is determined to have the capacity to meet the requirement. Paragraph 1:
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Acquisition and Grants Services (OAGS) has a requirement to procure a Preventative Maintenance Agreement (PMA) for a Malvern Panalytical Epsilon 5 Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer. The contract will be for a base year (12 months) with a 1-year (12 months) option period, under Request for Quote CFSAN-2024-123768. The contractor must provide Malvern PANalytical authorized service technicians, use only Malvern PANalytical certified replacement parts, and restore the equipment to operating specifications. The procurement will be conducted as a sole source acquisition under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), and the government intends to award the contract to Malvern PANalytical Inc. unless another organization can demonstrate the capacity to meet the requirement. Capability statements must be received by 12:00 p.m. EST on 06/18/2024.
