The Department of the Interior's National Park Service Pacific West Region awarded a firm-fixed price purchase order to Silhouette Farm & Forestry, LLC, a woman-owned small business, to provide forest thinning services within the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. The $50,843.70 contract, which is set aside for small businesses, requires the contractor to thin and prune conifer trees, prune shrubs, and remove dead and downed vegetation across approximately 54 acres in order to reduce wildfire risk. This contract is associated with a larger small business set-aside solicitation posted by the agency to procure these forest management services. Silhouette Farm & Forestry, LLC has extensive experience performing similar tasks for federal land management agencies through prime contracts and subcontracts, including hazardous fuels reduction, tree planting, and invasive species control projects.
