The Department of the Interior's United States Geological Survey awarded a $327,780 firm fixed price purchase order to Liquid Robotics, Inc. to provide a seafloor geodetic capability project. As the single source identified in the agency's Special Notice, Liquid Robotics will deliver an autonomous ocean-surface vessel integrated with a GPS-A module and acoustic transponders. The vessel must be less than 10.5 feet long with a minimum 15 watt payload power and 4.5 kWh battery capacity to transport the positioning equipment and benchmark seafloor locations, as requested. Performance will occur in Sunnyvale, California over 17 months from February 2022 through July 2023. As the prime and only contractor, Liquid Robotics will satisfy the USGS's requirements to establish a seafloor geodetic network without competition under the Federal Acquisition Regulation's sole source provisions.
