About this award
This $399,860 federal grant was awarded by a U.S. government agency to The Pennsylvania State University, doing business as Penn State, for the development of a "Microfabricated Optical Biosensor Arrays for In-Situ Bioreactor Monitoring" project. The award, which has a completion date of September 30, 2006, was not set aside for a specific business type. Penn State, a public research university and 1862 land-grant institution, has a broad portfolio of federal contracts, grants, and subcontracts across areas like defense, space, agriculture, health, and education. As a highly-capable research institution, Penn State likely leveraged its specialized materials science and engineering expertise to conduct the work under this grant for the government agency.
