About this award
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), a large nonprofit research corporation headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, received a $467,305 grant award from a civilian Shared Services Center on December 15, 2020, for research activities. The contract is not subject to any set-aside designation and carries an ultimate completion date of December 14, 2026. Work will be performed at SwRI's facilities, which span multiple locations across the United States and employ between 2,400 and 3,100 full-time staff members conducting research, development, and testing initiatives. SwRI's proposal data and cost information are restricted from external disclosure and may only be used by the government for proposal evaluation purposes, though the government retains full rights to use and disclose any data obtained through the award or from other unrestricted sources.
This grant represents part of SwRI's extensive portfolio of federal research partnerships. As an established research institution with over 25 years of experience serving government sponsors and clients, SwRI provides specialized research and development support across numerous technical domains. The award structure as a grant—rather than a traditional contract—indicates this funding supports research initiatives aligned with the Shared Services Center's civilian agency priorities, enabling SwRI to advance its research capabilities while contributing to federally-funded scientific objectives.
