About this award

This federal contract award to the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) by the Stennis Space Center, a civilian agency under NASA, is for research and analysis activities to support strategic business development, planning, and new business development for propulsion testing. The $1,095,699.72 firm fixed price delivery order contract has a period of performance through March 31, 2019.

The contract does not have a set-aside designation. Through its Office of Research Administration, USM will leverage its expertise in areas such as oceanography, materials science, and environmental monitoring to provide the required research and analysis inputs. This award builds on USM's extensive track record of collaborating with federal agencies, including both civilian and defense contracts and grants awarded for scientific research, testing, and training programs. While not a part of this specific contract, USM also holds a $5.5 million Other Transaction Agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for polymer materials development, as well as a $1 million Federal Supply Schedule contract with the GSA for training and education services.
