Description
Air traffic management (ATM) research: airborne surveillance concepts. The background of this work is based on airborne and ground-based capabilities to perform a range of tasks that support the overall air traffic management goals. Examples include aircraft identifying potential traffic conflicts and proposing an alternative trajectory to resolve that conflict and computing flight-optimizing trajectory changes compatible with traffic and airspace hazard avoidance. This task order provides research and development support, technical and subject matter expertise (SME), and subject matter engineering consultation to langley s crew system and aviation operations branch to conduct research that supports NASA s airspace operations and safety program and other air traffic management research. The contractor shall participate in concept development, research and development planning, experiment design, execution, data analysis, publication and dissemination of research results, operations consulting (including flight crew and air traffic control operations), and development of the supporting flight deck technologies and procedures.
