Description
Supersonic concept development and systems integration: design requirements for mission range, passengers and the environment will be established based on the market and regulatory outlook anticipated in the 2020 time period. The speed range will be mach 1.6 to 2.0 with a passenger count spanning 25 to 100 passenger and range of 4000 to 6000 NMI. Special attention will be paid to the sonic boom and jet noise levels as these are judged to be the key technologies for supersonic flight. For reference, more near term requirements for 2012 will also be determined so that, by comparison, the key design drivers, system level integration challenges and critical technologies for the 2020 requirements can be identified.
