4.1CDO Technology Research & Development: CDO Technology Research and Development shall be conducted within the technology areas specified above. 4.2CDO Technology Research and SBR & D Design and Approach: Based on government defined requirements the subcontractor shall assist Infoscitex and AFRL to develop a CDO Technology Research and SBR & D design and approach. The design shall identify all CDO and associated SBR & D technologies to be developed. CDO technologies are defined as technologies that would be aerospace vehicle specific such as mission management algorithms, cooperative control algorithms and UAV ground station. This plan would include any system of system analysis such as high speed strike weapon, tactical tanker and penetrating ISR and Counter Air. SBR & D technologies include desktop modeling and simulation tools, constructive simulation, virtual simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) simulation, and flight test assets. A spiral development approach should be identified minimizing the time and cost to design, develop and test the new technologies. This approach should identify and leverage SBR & D components and allow for a comprehensive ability. The SBR & D design shall allow for: 1) modeling of various levels of fidelity and abstraction; and 2) simulation architecture design that provides for a comprehensive and flexible technology across all SBR & D hardware and flight test assets. (CDRL A007, A009) 4.3CDO Technology Research Development Based on the CDO Technology Research and SBR & D design and approach plan, the subcontractor shall assist Infoscitex and AFRL to develop the specific CDO Technology Research aerospace technologies. Research and development of autonomy algorithms and operator control interfaces for air vehicle operations in CDO will be conducted. This will include mission analysis, technology development, integration, and assessment, including constructive, virtual, and live testing. Simulations and hardware test equipment will be developed as needed for analysis and test. Participation in up to two conferences per year (for example, MORS and AIAA SciTech) could be necessary as part of this effort. (CDRL A007, A009, A013, A015, A016, A017, A018) 4.4SBR & D Development and Integration Simulation-based research tools, constructive simulation, virtual simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) simulation, and flight test assets shall be developed and applied to enable development and maturation of CDO technologies as well as to develop methods to analyze and/or improve mission effectiveness and system life cycle costs. (CDRL A007, A009, A013, A015, A016, A017, A018) 4.5CDO Technology Research Test and Demonstration Laboratory and/or open-air testing shall be conducted to collect data to validate simulation results and to populate semi-empirical methods with real world data. The tests and demonstration shall follow the spiral development approach identified identifies in the CDO Technology Research and SBR & D design and approach plan. (CDRL A007, A009, A011, A012)
