About this award

The Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration awarded a firm-fixed-price delivery order to Unicom Government, Inc., a minority-owned for-profit IT solutions provider, to acquire twenty-two POWEREDGE R630 server units. This order, valued at $219,886.48, is in support of a technology refresh for the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) Support Facility, replacing obsolete Dell 490 servers. Eighteen of the new servers will replace existing Dell servers supporting the WAAS field operations, while the remaining four will serve as spares. No set-aside was used for this award. Unicom Government has previously supported federal agencies as both a prime contractor and subcontractor on various IT infrastructure projects.

Description

Poweredge R630 servers (210-acxs) regis: 60492287 & 60492301 saves vendor: unicom government INC. Category: license & maint agreements; WSF and lab consumables; gigamon project: waas-2008-000657-a team lead approval: chad sherrell, 6/22/2017 justification: these servers are for a technology refresh of the now obsolete dell 490 processor. We have already acquired 21 of the these servers that we have been using for testing in the waas support facility. The testing was successful and we need an additional 22 units to finish the technology refresh deployment. Eighteen of the 22 will replace dell servers used to support the field and the remaining 4 will be spares. We need to get this exact server and configuration or we will need to start this process over with testing a new configuration.
