About this award

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Stennis Space Center awarded a $282,108.00 firm fixed price delivery order to the University of Southern Mississippi to develop NASA's Software Usage Agreement (SUA) review process. The objective is to standardize the SUA process across NASA, enhance security, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. This work is not associated with a larger contract vehicle and does not have a set-aside designation. The University of Southern Mississippi is a public research university in Hattiesburg, Mississippi that provides a range of goods and services to the federal government through contracts and grants across areas like scientific research, education, and technology development.

Description

Statement of work for the development of NASA's software usage agreement (SUA) review process 1. Background NASA makes certain software available for the public release through its software release authority. NAS policy directive (NPD) 2210.1C defines the rules to release NASA software. Historically, this process has been performed by personnel at each of NASA's field centers. As a result, the requirements of NPD 2210.1C are interpreted in many different ways, leading to significant inconsistencies in the implementation of that process. The technology transfer (T2) program executive decided to consolidate this work at stennis space center (SSC) to standardize the SUA process, enhance security, improve efficiency and reduce SUA processing costs.
