About this award

This is a firm fixed price delivery order awarded by NASA's Stennis Space Center to the University of Southern Mississippi to update the Remote Sensing Toolkit (RST) software and web portal to incorporate NASA planetary data and tools. The initial version of the RST was focused on Earth science data, but users requested the ability to access NASA's planetary data and tools as well. The $239,193 contract directs Mississippi State University, as a subcontractor, to conduct a systematic search, categorization, and incorporation of relevant NASA planetary software and tools into the RST. This expands the toolkit's capabilities to support NASA's Open Government Initiative and promote broader utilization and economic benefits of the agency's remote sensing technology investments. No set-aside designation was specified for this contract.

Description

Statement of work for the remote sensing toolkit to incorporate planetary data. 1. Background NASA's technology transfer program built the remote sensing toolkit (RST) to help the agency comply with the open government initiative and to promote the broader utilization and economic benefits of the country's investment in this technology. The first version of the RST for earth data software and tools was completed and used to populate a highly successful web portal created by NASA/ames research center (ARC). Users inquired about the possibility of adding NASA planetary software and tools to RST. This statement of work addresses that request.
