About this award
The Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife has been awarded a $1.1 million firm fixed price contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for fish production services. Under the contract, the Department of Fish & Wildlife will deliver fall Chinook salmon eyed-eggs and subyearling smolts for release into the Columbia River to meet requirements of the 2008 National Marine Fisheries Service Biological Opinion. The work will be performed at the Priest Rapids Hatchery in Mattawa, Washington, and aims to satisfy the opinion's call for hatchery operations to be moved upstream to better achieve Columbia River dam mitigation objectives. As the sole facility capable of providing the required quantities under the specifications, no competitive solicitation was conducted and the sole source award was made directly to the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.
