This is a $111,268,952.26 cost-plus-fixed-fee definitive contract awarded by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), a civilian agency, to Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC (doing business as Merck), a for-profit pharmaceutical manufacturer. The contract is for the manufacturing and development of the RVSV-ZEBOV vaccine, a critical medical countermeasure. It does not have a set-aside designation. Merck also holds several significant indefinite delivery vehicles (IDVs) with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for adult and pediatric vaccines, valued up to over $4 billion, as well as a $13 million IDV for vaccine storage and rotation services. Additionally, Merck has a $15 million Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the supply of the cancer drug Welireg. These contract vehicles enable flexible ordering of a wide range of essential pharmaceutical products and services to support various federal healthcare programs and public health initiatives.
