The contract involves undergraduate and graduate students actively participating in the design, build, and testing of the new sensors and algorithms. The contract is part of the "Development of New Low-Resource Magnetometers for Small Satellites" program, and is being funded by the Shared Services Center, which is a civilian federal agency. The contract does not have a set-aside designation.
Description
Development of new low-resource magnetometers for small satellites we propose to develop and test a new magnetometer for use in boom-less cubesats that are being developed at UM and NASA gsfc. This involves the development and test of new algorithms and procedures to fly boom-less magnetometers on cubesats. Undergraduate engineers and graduate space systems engineers will actively be involved with the design, build and testing of the new sensors and algorithms. The partnership leverages existing complimentary efforts at UM and NASA gsfc.
