About this award

This is a cooperative agreement awarded by NASA to the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) for the Earth Venture Atmospheric Tomography (ATOM) project. The contract, valued at $830,669.59, supports UC Irvine's role as the Deputy Principal Investigator to coordinate the atmospheric chemistry and composition modeling efforts across the project's participating institutions. Key responsibilities include providing overall leadership and organization for the ATOM model teams, acting as a mission scientist during ATOM flights, and collaborating with the Principal Investigator and other designated team members. The contract does not have a set-aside designation, as UC Irvine is competing based on its research capabilities rather than small business status. This award is part of a larger NASA Earth Venture program focused on atmospheric research.

Description

The deputy PI shall coordinate across all PIS in terms of atmospheric chemistry and composition modeling efforts that are part of atom or using atom data before public release. The DPI shall provide overall leadership and organization for the atom model teams contributing to the specific global modeling, representativeness and integrated products in the atom proposal. A post-DOC (to be named) and scientific programmer at UC irvine shall support the atom products and development with the UCI CTM.
