About this award
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded a $999,148.03 cooperative agreement to the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC) to research and develop control and planning algorithms for improved mobility and manipulation capabilities of the Valkyrie humanoid robot at the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). IHMC, a non-profit research organization, will collaborate with JSC and provide an API to enable JSC to utilize IHMC's algorithms in their own R&D. This unsolicited proposal builds upon the existing working relationship between IHMC and JSC, with the goal of enhancing the Valkyrie robot and its future iterations for both research and real-world applications. The contract does not have a set-aside designation.
