Description

In 2011, the squadron replaced all of the small flight gear lockers with the current parachute racks. Since then the amount of aircrew has increased, and the amount of racks no longer can house the amount of students we have. The attached photo shows a portion of the current rack. Each aircrewman has sufficient room on a 21 inch arm to hang the following: anti-exposure drysuit contained in a bag survival vest torso harness anti-g suit helmet oxygen mask currently in the student locker room there are racks with 58 arms and including the newest class checking in we will have 100 students. At the moment we have a temporary rack which carries 32 total, but the hooks are very small (7 inches) and will only hold a small amount of flight gear. This gives US 90 spots for gear which is still not enough. Require enough racks and arms to not only replace the temporary, but add to the current racks for a total of 106 arms. Currently in the staff locker room there are 118 arms, plus a temporary rack which can house 16 with the same small 7 inch hooks. This locker room not only has our squadron staff aircrew, but also includes all of the reservist aircrew, wing aircrew, senior student officers, and guest aircrew. Require racks to replace the temporary rack and add to the current racks for a total of 158 arms compared to the current 134 spots. This especially allows US room to grow as we can move racks from one room to the other to accommodate growing numbers in the student locker room. These racks are mobile, and if for any reason we need to move spaces, or move hangers, we are able to take these with US.
