DHSEM is distributing sub-awards to the Town of Estancia, City of Aztec, and New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs for specific flood and fire mitigation projects. The sub-awards, totaling over $300,000, support infrastructure improvements, risk reduction strategies, and critical asset protection efforts across New Mexico. The program aligns with the DHS Strategic Plan's Goal 5: Strengthen Preparedness and Resilience, as well as the FEMA Strategic Plan's Goal 2: Lead Whole of Community in Climate Resilience and Goal 3: Promote and Sustain a Ready FEMA and a Prepared Nation. The application deadline is June 28, 2024, and the anticipated award date is no later than August 30, 2024. Eligible applicants are state governments and federally recognized tribal governments with identified projects in Appendix A of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
