IARAD000123
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control awarded a $300,000 Project Grant under the Lead Hazard Control for High Risk Areas program (CFDA 14.920) to the Eastern Iowa Regional Housing Corp, operating as the Eastern Iowa Regional Housing Authority Division, on January 1, 2024. The grant funding will be used to identify and mitigate lead-based paint hazards in pre-1978 housing units occupied by families participating in the Housing Choice Voucher program within the organization's service area. The project aims to protect vulnerable populations, particularly children under age 6, from lead exposure risks in older, subsidized housing units through lead hazard screenings and risk assessments conducted during housing quality standards inspections.
