The scope encompasses as-needed day-to-day installation of new blue Category 6 and 6a data lines across the main campus, Pearland Campus, and Medical Center facility; troubleshooting of out-of-warranty lines; demolition of old cable plants; testing of new and existing cables including fiber optics; fiber termination and troubleshooting; and wireless access point installations. Contractors must maintain Commercial General Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Workers' Compensation Insurance at statutory limits, and Commercial Auto Liability Insurance of $1,000,000. A Subcontracting Plan is mandatory for proposals exceeding $100,000; Monthly Progress Assessment Reports are required via the University of Houston's Contracts Compliance System. Evaluation weighs itemized standard task pricing (25 points), demonstrated ability to fulfill University needs (15 points), professional experience with similar projects (20 points), number of certified technicians on staff (20 points), operational plan (5 points), and quality assurance measures (15 points). The University reserves the right to make split awards, multiple awards, or no award and will not be bound to accept the lowest-priced proposal.
