The U.S. Consulate Lagos Public Diplomacy Section is seeking proposals for cultural exchange programming between the United States and Nigeria through June 2024. Eligible applicants are non-governmental organizations registered in Nigeria or the United States with experience in areas such as women's empowerment, democracy and human rights, environmental issues, and entrepreneurship. Successful proposals will highlight shared cultural values and promote bilateral cooperation, including an American element. The Grants Review Committee will consider organizational experience, program quality and feasibility, strategic objectives, budgets, and evaluation plans. Applicants must submit proposals by February 26, 2024.
Individual awards will range from $15,000 to $30,000 for periods up to 12 months beginning in June 2024. Funded projects must be implemented in the Nigerian states of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, or Rivers. The total amount available is $450,000 through the Department of State's Public Diplomacy Programs grant.
