The CyberCorps(R) Scholarship for Service (SFS) program, administered by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in coordination with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), aims to recruit and train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals for government positions. The program seeks proposals to establish or continue scholarship programs in cybersecurity, with a focus on increasing the number of qualified and diverse cybersecurity candidates, improving national capacity for cybersecurity education and research, hiring and retaining high-quality CyberCorps graduates, and strengthening partnerships between higher education and government. Applicants must provide evidence of a strong existing academic program in cybersecurity, such as ABET accreditation or a designation as a Center of Academic Excellence. The proposal deadline is July 15, 2025.

The CyberCorps(R) SFS program provides scholarships to students, who in turn must work in the cybersecurity mission of a federal, state, local, or tribal government organization for a period equal to at least the length of the scholarship. The program also supports efforts to increase the ability of the United States higher education enterprise to produce cybersecurity professionals through other funding opportunities, such as the Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace - Education Designation (SaTC-EDU) program.
