About this opportunity
This Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Marshall Space Flight Center is for the replacement of a damaged Zygo Verifire MST+ Interferometer valued at $290,000 to be sole-sourced from Zygo Ametek. The justification cites that only Zygo manufactures an interferometer with the required wavelength shifting capability for homogeneity measurements of large flat optics used for space telescope alignment and calibration projects like the Roman Space Telescope. Market research determined no other supplier can meet the technical needs or interface with the existing test stand equipment from Zygo. A contract was awarded to an unknown vendor for an unknown amount on September 28, 2023.
Notice text
This procurement is for the replacement of a broken Zygo interferometer that is integral to a larger metrology test stand. This replacement interferometer will be used to measure large flat optics that are used for space-based telescope alignment and calibration. Any replacement interferometer will need to interface with the existing hardware controller, laser alignment system, beam expander (32” BEX), and other optical bench components.
Awarded contract 80MSFC23PA015 to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2023-09-28.
