Additional Questions and Answers with security mesh installation 12/13/2011
Which walls will the security mesh be on? Answer: Permeter demmising walls & corridor walls.
2. Question: Where is this going? Answer: Above the ceiling.
3. Question: If the mesh is going to the deck, is there fireproofing that needs to be removed? Answer: Where necessary for mounting angle iron.
4. Question: If mes is going on top of existing metal walls that have celing tile and grid on top what will be the detail? Answer: Cut celing grid and attach to top of parition att angle iron etc.
5. Question: Confirm that we will be able to get to both side of any wall receiving mesh? Answer: Yes, but scheduling work with other agency's is necessary.
6. Question: Waht is the requirement for fastening mes to the structure? Answer: Driven Pins.
7. Question: What is the requirement for fastening mes to mesh? Answer: Steel pop rivets with fender washers both sides with angel iron on flat stock.
8. Question: Does mesh that surrounds utilities/ducts that penetrate the mes have to be framed with metal? If so what are the requirements. Answer: Angle iron on flat stock framed with steel pop rivets minammally every 16 inches.
9. Question: Is there a requirement for fasteners to attach the mesh? Answer: See Above

Additional Questions and answers received 12/6/2011
1. Question: Is the space above the ceiling 4 foot high or is it taller? Answer 4 foot high. Question: Will this space require framing and the installation of security mesh? Ifso, will the assembly require sheetrock as well as security mesh. Keep in mind that the HVAC system seems to have plenum returns. Answer: The mesh will require angle iron framing attched with steel pop rivets with fender washers on both sides when making cuts in mesh for conduits and ducts., etc. flat stock must be used to reconnect any seems also pop riveted with finder washers "NO" sheetrock will be used above ceilings!!
2. Questions: Does the mesh go only along the demising wall or along the interior walls as well reating a completely sealed off area? Answer: Only on the demising walls. If Mesh is installed on existing finished modular wall systems, will sheetrock need to be installed over the mesh or is the intent mesh above ceiling? Same answer as #1 only mesh above the ceiling.

Questions and Answers:
Question 1: Do Locksets have to be Best? No
Just capable of using a Best compatable removeable cores, and US Marshall's will supply the cores
Question 2: Two of the doors call for a door position switch, Is a latch position switch in the electric strike ok or what are the switches to be tied to? Answer: TBD.
Question 3: Wat are the head and motion detectors to be tied to? TBD
Question 4: Are the data and telephone outlets to be tied to existing system or just empty conduit and boxes? Answer: Just emplty conduit and boxes with pullstrings.
Question 5: Are each of the key access pads to be stand alone or tied to existing system: Answer: Stand Alone
Question 6: What type of carpet is being provided? Broadloom Carpeting with Direct Glue down.
Question 7: Amount of new Vinyl base is listed at 720sf? 170LF shoud be accurate, 720is a typo
Question 8: Spec Calls for CCTV? Please send attached for CCTV requirements.
Question 9: Are we installing any of of the wire in the data/telephone outlets? No
Question 10: There are sysmbols on the drawing that look squre with a line but not listed on the legend? Symbol is for CCT monitors, which includes running power to each. See attachment for CCTV requirements.

Furnish Labor and Material for USMS space renovation project in LOB, Albany, NY. per statment of work dated 11/3/2011. Contact the above individuals to receive a solicitation package. All contractors must be registered in the CCR and ORCA. A site visit will be conducted on 11/16/2011 at 11:00am, our office recommends a representative attend the site visit.
The contract will be awarded using best value, past performance and technical acceptable.
All proposal must be submitted on SF1442 along with exhibit B.
This procurement is a Total Small Business Set Aside. Participation by HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB and EDWOSB is strongly encouraged.
Estimated Range of the Project Cost is from $95,000 to $106,000.
