About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice to award a contract to R.E. Staite Engineering for urgent floating crane and tug services to support waterfront operations for the Metro Production Department in the San Diego area from February 22, 2023 through March 17, 2023, with an estimated value of $700,000. Due to the recent casualty of one government crane and maintenance period for another, leaving no operating cranes, unusual and compelling urgency was cited to justify the sole source award to R.E. Staite Engineering, who was able to immediately respond from their existing crane operation at Naval Base San Diego and nearby facilities to avoid serious injury to 11 fleet requirements.
