About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center has issued a sources sought synopsis to identify potential suppliers for brand name UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) battery replacements. This market research initiative seeks companies capable of providing 40 C&D batteries, model UPS12-355PLP, for a Toshiba G9000 UPS system located at facility 1030 028. The requirement specifies batteries with a 5-year warranty and 2-3 week lead time for installation in a 225kVA UPS unit with serial number 11-7E4189220012. Interested vendors must provide company information including UEI number, CAGE code, contact details, relevant experience, and business size classification under NAICS code 335999. Responses to this information-only request are due by August 19, 2025, with no solicitation currently available and no contract awards anticipated from this synopsis.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to small business entities as defined under Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 19. The specific requirement involves replacing a single battery string consisting of 40 total batteries for the existing Toshiba UPS equipment. Companies responding must identify their socioeconomic status categories and provide clear documentation of their size classification through the System for Award Management (SAM). The Air Force emphasizes this is strictly a market survey with no reimbursement available for response costs and no obligation to provide feedback or seek clarification from responding companies. The procurement falls under PSC category 5999 for Miscellaneous Electrical and Electronic Components, indicating the specialized nature of the UPS battery replacement requirement.
