The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price Purchase Order to Sanivation, an organization headquartered in Aurora, OH. The contractor will provide Solar Sanitation Effectiveness Trials.
CDC seeks continued development of appropriate and effective methods for ecological sanitation as a key intervention to protect the health and safety of populations in resource poor settings without access to sewerage, waste treatment, or other improved sanitation services. To better understand the comparative safety of composting toilets and solar sanitation treatment a controlled trial of the microbiologic effectiveness of the two approaches is needed.
The contractor will determine the microbiologic effectiveness of solar sanitation and of composting treatment of human waste as measured by log-reductions of selected indicator microorganisms or pathogens
This Procurement is for Commercial Supplies as defined by FAR Parts 2 & 12.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
