About this opportunity
The Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory seeks to award an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a potential ceiling amount of $35.7 million through its Selection, Screening, Discovery, and Design of Alloys and Advanced Metals Processing Technologies program. The objective of this program is to assess new alloys and metallic materials processing technologies in order to deliver improved capabilities for current and future Air Force weapons systems, reduce acquisition and sustainment costs of metallic components, reduce time-to-market for transitioning technologies to the Air Force and Space Force supply chain, and enable reduction of risks when inserting new materials technologies into aerospace applications. A Broad Agency Announcement providing additional program details is expected to be released in March 2021.
There is no set-aside designated for this opportunity. Applied research efforts will focus on developing and transitioning new or improved metallic materials for aerospace applications within areas such as propulsion systems, airframe structure, sustainment, and space applications. The anticipated NAICS code is 541712 and PSC code is R408.
