Added: Jul 15, 2016 11:56 am Modified: Aug 30, 2016 2:46 pmTrack Changes The purpose of this Amendment is provide answers to questions posed and to incorporate revisions to the existing SOW.

Q1. Boiler exhaust penetrations typically need to be three feet above ground when exiting building. The exhaust penetrations from the top of the basement level wall will be about one foot above existing grade. Should the documents be modified to show rising thru slab on deck into 1st level and then exit Transportation Building?

A1. The boiler referenced in the specification 15510 2.L. "or equal", installation Manual requires 12 " above ground or snow line and includes various permissible venting scenarios. Boiler selected and submitted by the contractor should accommodate the space available. See revised 15510 Para. 2.L. 4. a.

Q2. Is it the intent to place the new to tank to the East of the existing tank or to the West behind the guard rail which will require a lot of granular fill to get the new tank to the same level as the existing?

A2. It is the intent to place the new tank behind the guard rail which will require some granular fill (limited by the installation of a wood timber framework) to get the new tank to the same level as the existing tank. No change to drawings or specifications required.

Q3. What size should we be getting pricing on? What is the Btu/h input and output required?

A3. Notes on sheets M2 and M4 specify minimum MBH DOE heat capacity. CHANGE:200,000 to 200 MBH DOE on Sheet M2 and 280,000 to 280 MBH DOE on Sheet M4. ADD to Sheets M2 and M4: Units to comply with the minimum DOE, select ARHI to comply.

Q4. You are asking for stainless steel combustion chamber, do you want the heat exchanger to be stainless steel?

A4: Specification 15510 2. J. and L 5 intends to specify a stainless steel heat exchanger as well if separate from chamber/fire tube. See revised 15510 Para. 2.L. 3. a. which is reformatted to clarify.
