Notice text

Added: Aug 14, 2014 1:56 pm The Orlando Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center has a need for a new contract to provide veterans with convenient access to information about VA health benefits, their medical records, health information, expert advice, and the ongoing support needed to make informed health decisions and successfully implement their health plans. Given the growing needs of U.S. veterans living in Central Florida, a new VA Medical Center (VAMC) is scheduled to open its doors in 2015. This new facility will include a 134-bed hospital, a 120-bed community living center, a 60-bed domiciliary, an outpatient clinic, and a veterans' benefits mini service center. The center will also be equipped with the latest in digital technology and modern amenities. The new VAMC will increase the healthcare options for approximately 400,000 Central Florida veterans and will be part of the Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) 8, which is also known as the Sunshine Healthcare Network. VISN 8 is the nation's largest system of hospitals and clinics, serving a population of more than 1.6 million veterans in a vast 61,101 square mile area across 79 counties in Florida, South Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The expectation is that this new center in VISN 8 will be an exemplar facility for the VA and quality healthcare across the nation. The solicitation will be a request for quote and will be issued as a 100% small business set aside with a primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) of 611430 and a size standard of 11.0 M. The entire solicitation will be made available on or about August 18 2014 via the FedBizOpps.gov website located at https://www.fbo.gov. The required response date will be stated in the solicitation. Please not the response date listed with this pre-solicitation notice is not the actual due date. The actual due date will be stated in the solicitation. The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-76. It is the responsibility of the offeror to review the web page for notice of amendments, updates or changes to the solicitation. No hard copies will be mailed. All potential sources must obtain a DUNS number and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to transact business with the government. Failure to obtain a DUNS number and to register in SAM may result in the delay of award of a contract or possible award to the next otherwise successful offeror who is registered in SAM at the time of award. The anticipated period of performance will include one twelve-month base period and three twelve-month option periods.
