The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with SP Industries, Inc 3538 Main St, Stone Ridge New York, 12484 as they are the only responsible source capable of meeting the following MEC's:


Change Parts for the PennTech RW-500 Rotary Vial Washer
The PennTech RW-500 rotary vial washer requires a complete set of change parts for each vial size to be washed. These change parts must be precisely manufactured to interface with both the specified vial dimensions and the components of the vial washer to which they are attached. The set of change parts must consist of the following elements:
1. Eight (8) vial cassettes to move vials around the wash turret.
2. Six (6) spray tubes to channel water into vials at the various wash stations.
3. One (1) outfeed pusher element.
4. One (1) set of outfeed blocks.
In addition, larger vial sizes (10 mL or greater) require additional parts:
1. One (1) set of infeed blocks.
2. One (1) infeed block spacer bracket.
The minimum essential characteristics for these components are as follows:
1. All components must correctly interface with the PennTech RW-500 rotary vial washer.
2. All components must correctly interface with the specific vial type specified for each set of change parts:
a. 3 mL vials (Wheaton 223684).
b. 5 mL vials (Wheaton 223685).
c. 10 mL vials (Wheaton 223686).
d. 20 mL vials (Wheaton 223687).
3. All components must be able to withstand temperatures up to 100 °C.
4. All connections between change parts and the vial washer must be compatible with the vial washer 6 mm (Allen) bolt and sanitary clamp connections.
5. All metal components must be manufactured from 316L stainless steel.



There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a).
