NEW AUTOMOBILE PURCHASES - VARIOUS MAKES/MODELS
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Office of Acquisition Management has a requirement to purchase new, 2011 and 2012 commercially manufactured automobiles for use in its Safety Pilot Model Deployment Program. Automobiles to be purchased will be unmodified, commercially available sedans and cross-over vehicles, with certain option packages, as specified in the solicitation. Competitive proposals will be solicited from Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen/Audi automobile dealerships. FHWA anticipates purchasing up to six vehicles of each make, and up to 48 vehicles in total, for all makes, under a Request for Quote (RFQ) solicitation. Interested dealerships can view the solicitation document at the Government-wide Point of Entry, which is "FedBizOps" at http://www.fbo.gov. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about May 5, 2011, as RFQ No. DTFH61-11-Q-00059. Interested dealerships are advised to monitor this site during that time period.
