Update #4 ·

The purpose of this amendment is the following:

1. To extend the closing date and time.

NOTE: A deadline for Industry Submission of Questions is hereby established. The deadline for questions submission is 2:00 PM EST on 14 May 2018. After this date and time, the Government may not respond to questions received.

2. Answer questions and answers from industry.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Q8: 72 drives requirement in a 4U leads to use of a chassis that accommodates two (2) physical disk drives in a single drive carrier. Please confirm that this is an acceptable solution.

A8: As long as the drives are hot swappable this is acceptable.

Q9: The requirement states "NAS Storage must be fully assembled and operational" with OS requirement of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7. Does the Government require any additional configuration besides installation of Operating System for this storage server to be used as a NAS storage device?

A10: This means that all drivers for the RAID controller, the SAS host adapter with external ports, and the Ethernet cards must be installed and configured in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.

Q11: Regarding 4 port external Host Bus Adapter requirement, please clarify if this requirement refers to 4x PHY ports (1x physical mini SAS connector) or 4x physical mini SAS connectors (16x PHY ports).

A11: The 4x PHY ports (1x physical mini SAS connector) meets the requirement.

Q12: Warranty requirement for drives is "5-Year Keep Your Drive" type of warranty. What is the overall warranty required for this storage server? Also, identify the type of warranty service requirement (i.e. Advanced Parts Replacement, Next Business Day Onsite, Any Security Clearance required for Onsite visit etc.)

A12: No other warranty is required.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

A1: Yes, the requirement is for the 4U server to hold 90 drives, with 72 drives installed, leaving 18 drives as cold spares.

Q2: The Government Minimum Requirements state "Two (2) dual open 10GBase SFP+ Ethernet ports." Is the requirement for 2x dual port SFP+ cards or 1x dual port SFP+ card?

A2: The requirement is for one (1) dual port SFP+ card. See Attachment # 1 - Government Minimum Requirements REV 5-8-18.

Q3: The Government Minimum Requirements state "QTY=2 per unit; 2.5 inch 120GB (or larger) SATA3 (6Gbps) or SAS3 (12Gbps) hard drives in a RAID 1 (mirrored) standard configuration for the operating system." Is the requirement for the SSDs to be in a hardware RAID 1 or will a software RAID 1 be acceptable?

A3: The Government's Requirement is for a hardware RAID 1 configuration.

Q4: The Government Minimum Requirements state "QTY=2 per unit; 5 meter passive copper 24AWG 10GBase SFP+ direct attach cables." What brand/model network switch will these cables be plugged into?

A4: No brand, make, or model switch is specified. All items proposed need to meet the Government Minimum Requirements.

Q5: Does the Government require a HW RAID controller?

A5: The Government requires a hardware RAID controller.

Q6: How many actual drives should the NAS server host? The Government Minimum Requirements spells out 72 from the 90 drives but it is unclear on how many drives the server should hold.

A6: The requirement is for the 4U server to hold 90 drives, with 72 drives installed, leaving 18 drives as cold spares.

Q7: Please clarify the Government Minimum Requirement licensing requirement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server version 7? Attachment #1 states a 1-year license is required, while Attachment #2 states a 5-year license is required.
