About this opportunity

The Department of State's Office of Art in Embassies has issued a Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice for Salima Filali Creation SARL to deliver and install Zelig tiles measuring 803.4 x 865 cm at the new US Consulate General in Casablanca, Morocco. The total contract value is $11,640, with the procurement justified as a unique artwork that cannot be mass-produced and was specifically selected by the Office of Art in Embassies Curatorial Committee to support cultural exchange missions. The justification emphasizes the artwork's unique nature, which must reflect US values and meet specific artistic criteria for diplomatic facilities, and was chosen after comprehensive market research including contemporary art journal reviews, art fair attendance, and consultations with art experts. The selection process considered the host country's cultural context and artistic heritage, aiming to highlight cultural parallels and differences through visual arts. The contract was awarded on April 14, 2025, with the artwork delivery and installation expected to be completed prior to the consulate building's opening.
