About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Cleveland Medical Center (CLE VAMC) has issued a Special Notice regarding its intent to sole source the lease of a Philips Ingenia 1.5T mobile MRI system for its Parma, Ohio Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). Due to flooding issues, the VA needs to extend the hours of the current MRI to meet patient demand, and the procurement of a replacement system would take over 18 months in the current supply chain environment.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to notify the public of the VA's plan to negotiate solely with the incumbent provider, Rayus Radiology, for a continued MRI lease. The VA has determined that the Philips Ingenia system's proprietary "Compress SENSE" imaging technology and other unique features make it the only capable source to meet the requirement. Other interested parties may identify their capabilities by April 19, 2024, but the decision to compete the requirement is solely at the Government's discretion. The anticipated one-year contract term is from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025, and the acquisition will be made using the simplified procedures for certain commercial items under FAR 13.5.
