Added: Jun 08, 2018 7:01 pm The USDA Forest Service, Eldorado National Forest intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced contract for felling services of fire killed or severely damaged trees on an estimated 863 acres of mandatory treatment acres and up to 1,410 acres of optional treatment acres.

All work would occur on Forest Service managed lands that were burned during the 2014 King Fire. Trees may be fell by hand or by a mechanized feller-buncher. Fire killed or severely damaged trees will be fell in specific Timber Stand Treatment Units and in Roadside Hazard Tree Treatment Units. Both the Timber Stands Treatment Units and the Roadside Hazard Tree Treatment Units are described generally as treatment units in the following sections.


 Project Location & Description


The project area is located on the Eldorado National Forest, Georgetown Ranger District. The project area is approximately 25 air miles east of Georgetown, CA. The project area boundary begins approximately 5.0 road miles northwest of the Wentworth Springs Road (ELD-63) and is best accessed via the Eleven Pines Road (14N08) and various secondary roads throughout the project area. The project area is in Placer County.
