About this opportunity
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires licenses for prescription drug data to be uploaded to its Integrated Data Repository. The licenses are for the MediSpan Master Drug Database, Rx Norm Cross Reference, and AHFS Supplemental File. Interested parties may submit capability statements by July 9, 2021, however, the agency intends to award this contract on a sole-source basis to UpToDate, a subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer Health, as the licenses must be compatible with its current data integration processes. A formal solicitation will be released at the end of July 2021 with a planned contract award date of September 2021.
There is no set-aside designation for this proposed sole-source contract. The licenses required include one subscription renewal with weekly updates for each database. The justification for the sole-source acquisition is that only UpToDate can meet the agency's requirement for licenses that are compatible with its Integrated Data Repository integration processes.
