Alcon is the manufacturer of Constellation visual systems used in ophthalmic procedures. Constellation has unique disposable attachments that are manufactured by Alcon and can be purchased only from Alcon. Preventive maintenance of these instruments is needed to ensure continuous system functionality without interruptions or lengthy repair delays and is critical to NEI’s research efforts. The visual systems manufactured by Alcon rely on patented technology and specialized components to operate properly.
