INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO 6), intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Alcon Laboratories, Inc., 6201 S. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
The purchase is for a full service contract on Alcon Infiniti System equipment located at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. The full service contract includes all corrective and preventative maintenance service on equipment, including required parts and labor and participation in Handpiece Exchange program. Alcon is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) on the Infiniti equipment.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 811219, Size Standard: $6.5M, and the Classification code is J065. The proposed contract action is for service for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This notice of Intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement are to submit information to: Dori Dabbs, Contract Specialist, at dori.dabbs2@va.gov by 10:00 AM EST on December 08, 2015. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.
This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
