Title: Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Maintenance and Repair Services of uipmentLeica Scan Scope AT2 and Scan Scope FL Equipment
Description(s):
The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Leica Microsystems Inc., 1700 Leica Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089, for Maintenance and Repair Services of the Leica Equipment to include Scan Scope AT2 and Scan Scope FL Equipment, which are installed at NIEHS, Research Triangle Park campus. The provided supplies and services are proprietary and the services will be provided for the period of December 28, 2016 through December 27, 2021.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219 and the business size standard is $20.5 million dollars. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Leica Microsystems, Inc. is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required services and no other services will satisfy the agency's requirements.
The purpose of this Purchase Order is to obtain maintenance and repair on the noted Leica equipment.
This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for quotes. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting NIEHS' requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which, if received by the response date of this announcement, may be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and shall be emailed to Christopher Fisher at Christopher.fisher@nih.gov and are due by 1:00PM ET on December 23, 2016. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
